Over the July 4th weekend in 2011, I was so obese that my doctor warned that I was at risk for adult-onset diabetes. At 206 pounds on an otherwise small frame, I was as big as my chronically obese then girlfriend. We had been reading diet books together as a past-time, but despite her being a health-care professional, neither of us had taken action.
I had been suffering from chronic digestive issues such as Irritable bowel syndrome that led me to become very good friends with many dermatologists and gastrointestinal specialists around the globe. Doctors placed me on a gluten-free diet but without celiac.
After having exhausted all of the remedies in the medicine cabinets of my plethora of doctors and specialists, my digestive system remained unhappy and demanded attention.
During that vacation in Chicago, I had reached a total low. Something inside me said I needed to change. I needed a new life. On the plane ride home, I broke up with my then girlfriend. I decided to do whatever it takes to get my weight to normal levels.
I remembered that I had once been an average build. That was before I came to the east coast. I remembered the diet that had served my body well over the years. This blog is my journey to reconstruct that diet. As a result of my dramatic change in diet, but without any change in my exercise, I have lost 50 pounds and dropped from a size 39 in pants to a size 33 over six months. More on how and why I took this journey follows in this blog — along with what I’m actually eating to sustain my change in lifestyle and how people are reacting to me in a totally different way.
I do not even know how I ended up here, however I believed this post used to be good. I do not recognize who you might be however definitely you’re going to a famous blogger in case you aren’t already. Cheers!
